Soot 0.2.7: Nest, rebuilt for working with a team

The Nest desktop app in Soot 0.2.7 gets one inbox for everything that needs you, a clearer view of your teams, simpler team setup and safer saves. What changed, and what is still preview.

You start a few Soots, give them jobs, and go back to your own work. An hour later, three of them are waiting on you: one wants approval to post, one has a question, one held back an action it was not allowed to take. Where do you find them?

That is the question Soot 0.2.7 answers. Most of this release is Nest, the desktop app you use to run your Soots (its interface is in Vietnamese; English names are given in brackets), rebuilt so that working with a team of them feels calm instead of scattered.

One inbox for everything that needs you

Cần bạn ("Needs you") now collects approvals, held actions and questions in one place. You can filter it, work through it with the keyboard, and reject several items at once behind a confirm. A count sits in the sidebar and the window bar, so you can see at a glance whether anyone is waiting.

When a confirm would throw away your work, focus starts on the safe choice.

See what the team is doing

  • Tổng quan (Overview) shows what the team is working on, its runs, its tokens and its cost.
  • Giám sát (Monitoring) names a server it cannot reach and keeps showing the numbers of the others.
  • Chat keeps a draft per conversation, shows a team run and a Soot's question as cards, and offers Thử lại (Retry) or Bỏ qua lỗi (Skip error) on a failed run.
  • If one part of a screen breaks, it says so and offers Thử lại. The rest of Nest keeps working.

Teams are easier to set up

  • Đội Soot ("Soot teams") lists teams and Soots, with an org chart and tabs for members, permissions and work. Each Soot has a profile with its permissions, work, schedules and configuration. Schedules use a plain interval picker.
  • Tạo nhóm (Create team) is one wizard.
  • Permissions come with three presets: Cẩn thận (careful), Cân bằng (balanced) and Tự làm (hands-off). A preset tells you which other Soots it affects before it changes anything.
  • A team created from a template no longer asks for a file path for each credential. You set the values in Nest afterwards, and nothing secret is written into the configuration.
  • Dữ liệu (Data) shows the shared data pool with accent-insensitive search, its collections, and which Soots may read it.

Saves you can trust

Cài đặt (Settings) is grouped into general and per-server sections: AI, tool approvals, website and product knowledge. When Nest cannot tell whether a save reached the runtime, it says so and offers Đối chiếu kết quả (check the result), instead of quietly sending it again.

Team members also see more: a member key with team read access lists the team's conversations, and Nest labels what each connection can see.

For developers

The TypeScript SDK is now published on npm as `@tofound/soot-sdk` 0.2.0. If you used the old package name, update your import and your package.json.

What is still preview

Soot is a preview, and this release is no exception:

  • The installers are unsigned, and Mac builds are not notarized. Your operating system may warn you or block the install.
  • The Windows x64 installer was built on a Mac and has not yet been tested on Windows itself.
  • Installers exist for Mac (Apple Silicon and Intel, macOS 12 or later) and Windows x64. There is no Linux desktop installer.

Try it

Download Nest from trysoot.com/download. The page shows the version, the file size and the SHA-256 of each installer, so you can check what you downloaded. Then open Nest, add an AI provider in Settings, and give your first Soot a small job. The docs walk through each step.
